| A view of a Pinetops Community |
Pinetops is a quaint town in southern Edgecombe County. Founded in 1901, the Town was incorporated in May, 1903 as a rail station. We grew with buinesses as merchants choose to locate near the railroad line that took people and goods between Tarboro and Farmville. Henry Bridgers purchased a one (1) square plot that would define the Town limits. Since that time, the people of Pinetops have been a intersection of commerce in Edgecombe County. Today, over 1300 people make this their home. The railroad has long since ended its route through the area, but Pinetops contines its life as a vibrant community of well kept neighborhoods. Pinetops is the home of the Pinetops 300. A top ten tractor pull sanctioned by the National Association of Tractor Pulls. Our Christmas Parade continues in its 32nd year as the mosts exciting parade east of Raleigh. Other annual events include a National Day of Prayer celebration and an active Pinetops Night Out Against Crime. Last year the Christmas Parade was attended by over 4000 people from all over eastern North Carolina. The Tractor Pull included 5,000 spectators and participants. The National Day of Prayer celebration and Pinetops Night Out Against Crime was attended by over 1200 local citizens. Thanks for coming to our part of the Web. Let us know how you like it.
